This app offers a window into the Foldscope community where over 50,000 people from 135 countries share their observations of the microscopic world.
The Foldscope community is comprised of science observers, enthusiasts, experts, and most importantly, students and educators. And we are growing constantly each day.

The Foldscope is a low-cost microscope made from common materials such as paper.
It is designed to be produced affordably, to be durable, and to give optical quality similar to conventional research microscopes.

Our mission is to expand access to science by breaking down the price barrier between people and their curiosity and excitement for scientific exploration.
We are implementing this vision by putting microscopes in the pockets of explorers of all ages from around the world.
